I had a great time playing for folks at the West Branch Gallery opening last week. There was a great turnout of all sorts of people. It was warm and sunny. Actually, up on the second level it was downright hot. But a great setting for some great art. I played 2 one hour sets, looping and grooving with the Looperlative LP-1 and the Eventide Eclipse. I’ve built this rack with all my pedals, going into the stereo Walter Woods. With the LP-1 and Eventide in another rack, in the effects loop of the amp. All controlled with 2 separate foot switch controllers and 3 variable controllers. Quite the memory workout. Oh ya, and playing some of the hardest pieces of music I’ve arranged in quite some time. It sure was a great experience. I look forward to making much more music in this format.

I had a great time at the Vic Wootens Bass Nature Reunion camp last week. Got tons of great ideas, concepts from Victor, Anthony, Chuck, Steve and Dave. Some of it, I had simply forgotten. Those guys really have a gift of prying your eyes open and showing you the beauty. The camp followed up with an old fashioned barn raising. Actually a 2 story building, a 40′ dome, a barn cleaning, a kitchen and new floor in the caretakers cabin, and hundreds of feet of new trails. All this for the new Bass Nature camp facility that Vic and his wife just purchased. This got built in just over 2 days. Amazing the amount of great people that came from far and wide to help out. It was an honor to meet them all! Above is a pic from Jason Brynarski of Beek and Me taking a break from turning old barn beams into kitchen cabinets. Beek rocks, we started early each morning, and worked way into the night. He’s a great builder, and a fantastic bassist and all around great guy. We met at the first camp we did in 05, it was great to reconnect with him. And the fact that out of 100 plus people that volunteered to build, Beek and I were the only cabinet makers. Fantastic.

We’re having a great time traveling. Budapest is a beatiful city. Although yesterday, there was a giant skinhead rally. We stayed in. Too much violence for me. I didnt hear anything on the news, so I guess there were no major conflicts. More traveling tomorrow, hope your all well. On a positive note, we got to meet some of my mother in law’s child hood friends. What a treat.
Hope you all are well
Peace
